Day 1
Drive along the scenic north coast to reach the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Reserve. Enjoy a picnic lunch on a scenic spot in the heart of the reserve. On arrival at Mpila Camp after checking in, you will have a chance to enjoy your surroundings before an afternoon drive. Accommodation will be in either a 2 or 4 bed safari camp, the 5 bed chalets, or the 4 bed rest huts, with preference given in that order (for more information on these types of accommodation please scroll down) Mpila Camp offers a perfect base for game drives to more secluded parts of the reserve. Enjoy a BBQ dinner. An optional 3 hour night drive can be arranged on an open vehicle in the park @ R250.00 per person.
Day 2
We leave on an early morning game drive at first light which will take us to Sontuli Loop in the most exciting part of Umfolozi Reserve. Being in this part of the reserve so early in the morning offers extremely rewarding sightings including hyena, lion, black rhino and leopard. After breakfast, we travel through the park on a last game drive before heading to St Lucia for a boat ride on the St Lucia Estuary. Crocodiles, hippos, fish-eagles, cormorants, herons, and a vast array of birdlife can be seen on the boat ride, and photographic opportunities abound.

Meals
As there are no restaurant facilities at Mpila Camp, and we have carefully designed our meal menu to be very appetising and healthy as well as convenient. This is to ensure that your tour guide can dedicate most of his or her time to giving you the best game viewing experience possible. Lunches are mainly of the picnic / sandwich variety. Breakfasts are continental with toast, cereals, fresh fruit and yogurt. Dinners will be BBQ's, with salads, rolls and meat. There are many little extras which we supply that add to the variety. We will have a tea / coffee / juice hamper on each tour. We also supply fresh drinking water for meals, although you may like to bring your own supply to enjoy whilst on game drives.
Transportation
We collect passengers from all hotels and guesthouses in the greater Durban area, and drop them off after the tour. Collections can also be arranged at private houses.
Accommodation
We will try and book the best available for the dates you have chosen, and preference is given to safari camps, 5 bed chalets and 4 bed huts in order.
Safari Camps
These camps are a romantic and new addition to Mpila Camp. The entire camp is built on a wooden platform, and consists of one tented bedroom (2 bed safari camp) or two tented bedrooms (4 bed safari camp), each with en-suite shower, toilet, basin and dressing area. There is a central fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Each bedroom has its own outside sitting area. Towels and bedding are provided, and there are also mosquito nets over the beds.
5 Bed Chalets
These units have 2 bedrooms, one of which has 2 twin beds, and the other containing 3 twin beds. There is a bathroom with bath and shower, and a separate wc. There is a fully equipped kitchen, lounge cum dining room, and patio with barbeque area. Towels and bedding are all supplied.
2 Bed Chalets
These units have 1 bedroom which has 2 twin beds. . There is a bathroom with bath and There is a fully equipped kitchen, lounge cum dining room, and patio with barbeque area. Towels and bedding are all supplied.
