Phinda is a big 5 reserve giving a luxury safari experience situated in the Zululand region of KwaZulu-Natal South Africa. Sandwiched between the Mkuze Game Reserve and the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, Phinda comprises 14 000 hectares (34 000 acres) of prime conservation land. Seven distinct habitats within Phinda's borders shelter an abundance of wildlife including Africa’s Big Five and over 380 bird species while the marine diversity off the nearby coast of Sodwana is said to rival the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

Access
Federal Air operates a daily flight from Johannesburg International Airport to Phinda Airstrip. Daily scheduled flights by SA Express from Johannesburg International Airport to Richards Bay Airport. Transfers from Richards Bay Airport to Phinda are available by road (approximately two hours) or by light aircraft (approximately 30 minutes). Transfers are at an additional cost and subject to availability of aircraft and weather conditions. Transfer by road from Durban International Airport to Phinda in an air-conditioned minibus (three hours) and a one-hour air transfer is also available. Phinda is accessible by road by two-wheel drive vehicle -- driving time from Johannesburg is six hours and from Durban is three hours – on excellent roads from both cities.

Accommodation
Phinda offers four 5 star lodges - Forest Lodge, Vlei Lodge, Rock Lodge & Mountain Lodge, all of which offer a unique luxurious African safari experience. Vlei & Rock are catered to clients looking for a completely private and exclusive experience.

Activities
Guests can look forward to exciting game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles led by experienced rangers and Zulu trackers, as well as thrilling optional activities on the water, in the air and on the beach. Rates
There is no entrance fee to Phinda. This private game sanctuary is reserved for guests of one of the four lodges and participants on the walking safaris, and entrance is included in the accommodation costs.
