Shamwari
Shamwari Private Game Reserve is situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, a 45 minute drive from Port Elizabeth, forming a natural addition to the famous Garden Route. Award-winning Shamwari is a completely malaria free reserve, with a large variety of mammals including the Big 5 - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. The 20 000 hectare wildlife reserve boasts 5 eco-systems, enabling the support of many forms of plant, animal and bird life. The reserve couples an exclusive African wildlife adventure with sustainable conservation practices, which have combined to create a sought after tourist attraction. The conservation department at Shamwari reserve is extensive, including an anti-poaching unit. The ecology department protects and where necessary, improves the biodiversity of Shamwari.

Activities
Guests can look forward to exciting game-drives in modern open 4x4 landrovers led by experienced game rangers. Safari walks are also available. Visits to Khaya Lendaba and the Conservationist Day Centre.

Port Elizabeth Airport is only 50 minutes drive from Shamwari.

By road from Port Elizabeth
Travel along the N2 towards Grahamstown - approximately 65 kms. Take the Paterson off ramp (R342), continue for a further 7 kms, turning right at the Shamwari sign.
By road from Grahamstown
Travel along the N2 towards Port Elizabeth - approximately 58 kms. Turn right at the Shamwari sign (R342), continue for a further 7 kms turning right at the Shamwari sign.
