The Garden Route Safari Tour

On this Garden Route tour, South Africa's breathtaking rustic mountainous beauty and verdant valleys are yours to enjoy. This landscape contrasts sharply with the tranquil arid conditions of the Klein Karoo. Travel on during the following days to the lush, green & beautiful "heart of the Garden Route".

You will visit an ostrich farm that has traded since the turn of the century. Your adventure far into the inner chambers of the stunningly beautiful world-famous pre-historic Cango Caves will be totally unforgettable on this Garden Route tour.

Spend a day at one of the famous Game Reserves, either Schotia, or Lalibela Private Game Reserves - where you will have the opportunity to see big game in their natural habitat. En route to Port Elizabeth visit the Addo Elephant Park, proclaimed in 1931 to save the last survivors of the once numerous herds of Eastern Cape elephants who are now thought to be extinct in South Africa.

The Garden Route's Addo Elephant Park is the home to the densest population of elephants in the world who share 12 000 hectares of gently undulating valley bushveld with jackal, warthog, suricate, buffalo, and a variety of antelope as well as lion, kudu, hartebeest and bushbuck.

On our safari Garden Route tours, South Africa's own rainforest, the Tsitsikamma Forest, will be visited before continuing on to Plettenberg Bay and Storms River. We then make a lengthy stop-over in the quaint historical seaside village of Knysna; a community nestled between the fringes of the dark mountainous forest and the ocean. Enjoy a sunset cruise on while dining aboard a paddle steamer on the vast navigable lagoon that flushes into the sea through the famous Knysna Heads as well as a journey by coastal steam train to George.

You will journey by the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe coastal steam train to George. There are exciting stop-overs, excursions and places of interest to visit throughout this unique Garden Route tour that showcases some of the best scenery South Africa has to offer.
