LUKIMBI SAFARI LODGE

This established lodge is situated in the Southern part of Kruger National Park which is easily accessible. The lodge enjoys exclusive use of 15,000 hectares of Southern Kruger National park. Three river systems form a boundary to Lukimbi, and a great diversity of wildlife is found including the Big 5, as well as black rhino. Bird species are prolific as there are woodlands and grasslands in the Lukimbi range.

LUKIMBI SAFARI LODGE SUITES

There are 14 luxury air-conditioned suites at Lukimbi. Facilities in these suites include fans as well as the ac, a mini-bar, tea & coffee facilities, a secure safe and stunning en-suite bathrooms with inside and outside showers with an amazing view of the veld. Each suite has a secluded deck which is ideal for bird watching or spotting animals moving down to the river. For that extra special occasion, you have got to book either the King Cheetah and / or Giant Eagle Owl suites. These beautiful suites have separate bedrooms a lounge, dining area and two bathrooms. Each has a deck adjoining the lounge, which leads to a private swimming pool.

LUKIMBI SAFARI LODGE GUEST AREAS

Lukimbi Lodge makes provision for all facilities that could be wanted by guests for the ultimate in a peaceful retreat. There is a full library with fiction and factual books, a curio shop, a wine cellar where guests are welcome to select wines from the cellar baskets, a well equipped gym with fantastic river views and a sparkling swimming pool with jacuzzi. Internet access is provided in the library for those who need to keep in contact with the real world.

DINING AT LUKIMBI SAFARI LODGE

Lukimbi allows guests to choose to dine in an elegant dining room, in their outside boma, or even sometimes in the bush. Some suites allow for in-room dining, or al-fresco on their private deck. Lukimbi is happy to arrange affairs so that picnics and bush breakfasts & dinners can be enjoyed in the wild. Should you so desire, Lukimbi will set it up and surprise you. Meals are delicious, with a range of themes and taste influences, accompanied by superb South African wines.

LUKIMBI SAFARI LODGE ACTIVITIES

As with all game lodges, there are morning and afternoon / evening game drives, which provide excellent opportunities to see the Big 5. As there are large areas which are not accessible by road, Lukimbi's highly experienced rangers offer guided walks where any sightings are possible. Whilst at camp, rangers give informative lectures on their individual subject of expertise, e.g. bird watching, insect life, etc. For an additional thrill at a surcharge, you can enjoy a helicopter ride to some of the most breathtaking scenery in Mpumulanga, which can be arranged at Lukimbi.

CHILDREN AT LUKIMBI SAFARI LODGE

Lukimbi welcomes children over 2 years of age although the number of children at any one time is restricted. There are a range of activities on offer, including nature walks and talks which are educational and fun. Lukimbi has a children's room which contains a TV with videos and various games. Parents with children under the age of 6 years must hire a private landrover for game drives.

GETTING TO LUKIMBI SAFARI LODGE

There are direct flights daily from Cape Town and Johannesburg to KMIA (Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport). Transfers can be arranged between the Kruger airport and Lukimbi and transfer rates are available on request. The drive between KMIA and Lukimbi takes approximately one and a half hours and is done in an air-conditioned vehicle. Charter flights to Malelane airport can booked through our reservations office. If self-driving, we will fax directions through.

2 Luxury Suites - Giant Eagle Owl & King Cheetah suites

The rates include luxury accommodation in en-suite, air-conditioned suites, 3 full meals per day, all teas and coffees, afternoon tea, 2 game drives daily in open landrovers and a safari walk. Game activities are with skilled and well-trained rangers. Arrivals are from 12:00 but no later than 15:00. Departures after breakfast at 10:30

The rates exclude bar bill, soft drinks, telephone and fax calls, bed levies, health spa facilities, curios, gratuities, items of a personal nature and entrance fees into the Kruger National Park.

Transfer rates between Kruger Mpumalanga Airport and Lukimbi are available on request. The drive between Nelspruit and Lukimbi takes approximately one and a half hours and is done in an air-conditioned vehicle.
