Long Lee Manor
Welcome to Long Lee Manor in the Shamwari Private Game reserve. Long Lee Manor was built in 1910 by the descendants of William Foulds, one of the early settlers from York in England. Lovingly restored and expanded, this gracious Edwardian mansion has the feel of a country manor, located in the African bush where you will experience the style of living of a past era, with uncompromising service.
Long Lee Manor overlooks the Bushman's River Valley in the Shamwari Game reserve. Long Lee's sumptuous accommodation includes bedrooms in the Manor House, Palm Court, and the secluded Sidbury Wing. The french doors open onto the rolling river meadows. Each spring (October) the palm trees in Palm Court are alive with weaver birds nesting. All of the en-suite bedrooms are luxuriously decorated, with air-conditioning or ceiling fans, and underfloor heating. There are satellite TV and international direct dial telephones in each room.
Meals
Sumptuously prepared meals are enjoyed in the main dining room or around the open blazing fire at the Barn. An extensive range of African curios and branded clothing is sold at the curio shop at Long Lee Manor. Between game drives guests can laze around one of the two swimming pools, play an invigorating game of tennis on the floodlit court or relax in the beautifully appointed garden lounge.
Activities
Activities from Long Lee Manor include morning and evening game drives or walking safaris, accompanied by your personal ranger. Shamwari Game Reserve prides itself on the knowledge and professionalism of their rangers. Long Lee Manor is a reminder of an era of gracious living - positioned as the flagship of Shamwari - it overlooks the sweeping plains leading down to the Bushmans River.
This romantic setting comes complete with a floodlit tennis court, 2 swimming pools, Private conference facility,
curio shop, private airstrip, courtyard for outdoor dining, and an original 1916 barn with outdoor dining facilities

Children are permitted at Long Lee.
Children from 3yrs to 7yrs charged 25% sharing with parents, but are not permitted on game drives. Children 7 to 12 yers 50% of adult rate, includes meals, accommodation & game drives.
Children older than 12 years require a separate room and are charged the full adult rate.
Private use of landrover charged at R1000.00 per day, depending on availability.
